Don’t miss out on your free place at DPC2017
on 15-16 November, Olympia, London

Health Business is supporting Diabetes Professional Care 2017 (DPC2017), the UK’s only national, free-to-attend, CPD-accredited event for diabetes healthcare professionals.

DPC2017 will see the return of our popular conference stream, Commissioning For Better Diabetes Care. These sessions will focus on helping commissioners and other senior decision makers improve patient outcomes and tackle key issues in diabetes care.

"Advancing diabetes care depends on great people, innovative research and technology, but also ensuring that resources are placed where impact is greatest,” says Dr Mike Sadler, DPC2017’s Conference Chair.

“Commissioning is everyone’s business – care providers need to ensure good care and service development is funded; policy makers need to understand the levers for policy to translate to care improvement; and commissioners need support to make the best decisions, with limited resources and multiple demands.

“Our full-day commissioning stream will offer something for all – national policy and programmes; innovation in skill mix; and local examples of care improvement, with providers and commissioners working in partnership."

Over two days, thought leaders and top practitioners from across the diabetes arena will share their expertise and experiences in the DPC2017 conference, workshops and feature areas. They include:
  • Professor Sir Muir Gray, Director, Better Value Healthcare and Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust – Keynote: Population accountability for people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes

  • Dr Pratik Choudhary, Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Diabetes, King’s College London – Definitions, reporting and the cost of hypoglycaemia

  • Dr Iain Cranston, Consultant Diabetes Physician & Endocrinologist, Portsmouth Hospital NHS Trust – Working with commissioners to achieve a funding solution for CGM – a case example from the SHIP8 Commissioning Cluster
DPC is setting aside a dedicated Commissioning Lounge, where visitors from a commissioning and senior decision making background can conduct meetings and network with colleagues, with access to free wifi and light refreshments.
