IMPROVING REGIONAL AIR QUALITY IN THE WEST MIDLANDS
|
Environmental law charity ClientEarth has recently stated that any air quality improvements brought about by the current Coronavirus Lockdown are likely to be short lived.
The government remains under a legal obligation to clean up the air across the country and has committed to keeping any delay to Clean Air Zones as short as possible. It is therefore vital that preparatory work to draw up local air quality plans continues and that help and support for businesses across the country to move to cleaner forms of transport should be part of the package of stimulus measures to help drive our economic recovery.
The AMP ULEV eRoadshow takes the ‘Clean Air’ and ‘ULEV’ agenda online, focusing on the Midlands and Warwickshire regions in three highly targeted webinars which take place over three days - 1st, 3rd and 5th June (World Environment Day).
|
Designed to encourage the uptake of ULEVs, each of the online events will look at the air quality agenda and strategy as well as vehicle charging and infrastructure. The sessions will discuss how the region can lead the way in the “Smart City’ and ‘Smart Mobility’ space.
The event is supported by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), Crown Commercial Service (CCS), Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT) and National Grid. Keynote presentations will come courtesy of West Midlands Combined Authority, as well as Warwickshire, Coventry, Birmingham and Wolverhampton Councils.
Expert advice and key information will be provided from our innovative solutions suppliers, each of whom offer the very latest in clean technology. Hear from LDV, who offer full-electric large and small commercial vehicles, with 120-200 mile range capabilities. We have the electric and plug-in hybrid car option, courtesy of KIA, as well as self-charging hybrid and hydrogen platforms from Toyota. In terms of leasing, finance and whole-life cost, we have expert guidance from LeasePlan, while elmtronics will discuss workplace charging and their Hubsta network.
