Take a look at the agenda for NetZero GOVERNMENT
The free online event providing guidance and advice to help the public sector reach the government’s target of ‘net zero’ by 2050
17 June, live online, 10am
In June 2019, the government passed legislation in which it committed to achieving ‘Net Zero’ greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, which would mean reducing emissions substantially from current levels.
NetZero GOVERNMENT aims to bring together key experts that are helping drive forward the public sector strategy. The event will cover key areas including Buildings & Energy, Waste & Recycling and Sustainable Transport.
Here's a look at what you can expect on the day...
|
Session 1: Overview
Event Host Yumann Saddiq from Energy UK will be joined by Jason Torrance, UK100 and Nick Macdonald Smith for the first session of the morning. Jason discusses communicating climate change and Nick gives an overview on driving a net zero NHS
|
Session 2 will focus on Buildings & Energy. We will have presentations from Chris Hewett, Solar Energy UK on local opportunities for solar in decarbonising power, heat and transport in 2030 and beyond.
Mark Bramah, Renewable Energy Association provides us with a case study on transitioning to renewable energy and Stephen Lowndes, The Carbon Energy Fund explains how to enhance NHS Net Zero.
|
Session 3 will cover Waste & Recycling. Yumann Saddiq will be joined by Katherine Armitage, Keep Britain Tidy who will talk about waste insights for local government.
|
The final session of the morning will focus on sustainable transport. Tim Anderson, Energy Saving Trust will discuss how EVs & ULEVs can move people and goods in a smarter, cleaner way and Mark Constable, Trojan Energy Ltd will explain their flat and flush on street charging for electric vehicles.
|
NetZero GOVERNMENT will be delivered using the online platform, webevents365. Cutting out the need for travel to a venue puts a marker down as to how we plan on helping the UK public sector deliver on its Net Zero strategy.
Taking place on 17 June, the platform has a live chat function, allowing you to network with your peers. You can post questions for the experts, in the Q&A element, and help shape the strategy, moving forward, by casting your vote in the live polls. There will also be downloads available, at the click of a mouse.
