Electric cars embark on an unbelievable journey, the length of the British Isles…

The Route (cars)

Day 1 see’s all the vehicles start at the beautiful Castle and Garden’s of Mey in Scotland, just before they swing by the iconic John O’Groats sign. From there, the cars split from the vans and pick up the iconic NC500 along the north coast and into the Highlands, heading to Fort Augustus on the south shore of Loch Ness. They then finish at Fort William and Oban.

They begin Day 2 by traveling from Fort William and Oban, down into England, taking in Loch Lomond and Lake Windemere on route, before finishing at Heathside, the HQ of Lex Autolease. Lex will be hosting a Fleet Electrification conference during the day and their delegates will welcome the Rally in with a networking BBQ and some well-earned refreshments, before the cars head over to Siemens HQ who are kindly providing an overnight charge.

They pick up Day 3 by leaving Cheadle and heading 142 miles to Rockingham in Corby for an afternoon of EV fun on the race track! There, the cars will be met by the vans and they will participate and compete in some challenges, alongside our hosts, cinch and British Car Auctions (BCA). Karcher will have a crack crew on-hand to give the vehicles a once over, using their latest cleaning equipment. From there, the Rally moves as one, with cars and commercial vehicles joining forces to take on the remainder of the GBEV Rally, starting with the drive to Milton Keynes and into the BP Pulse HQ.

Day 4 is this years’ #Beast! We move from Milton Keynes to Braintree, to stop by Gridserve’s Electric Forecourt. They travel through Essex and into East London where they will be greeted at Char.gy’s wireless charging project, with Innovate UK and Redbridge Council. From there, all ‘Congestion Charge registered and exempt’, they go into the centre of London, taking in the BP Pulse hub at Park Lane. Finally, they head west, to Bristol, where West of England Combined Authority are hosting the Rally at the Bristol & Bath Science Park.

As they leave Bristol for the fifth and final day, they cross the border into Wales for a rare opportunity to drive across the Cardiff Barrage, thanks to Cardiff Council and Cardiff Harbour Authority. We make our way back into England via Exeter and Devon as we come to the end of our 5-day epic journey, ending at Lands End.

More than 1250 e-miles completed, taking in sustainable energy projects, charging and infrastructure and iconic landmarks along the way. Simply unbelievable!
