SIGN UP TO Managing Maintenance in Council Controlled Buildings: guidance for long term solutions to damp and mould webinar TODAY!

To prevent any recurrence of the tragic and avoidable circumstances that resulted in the loss of toddler Awaab Ishak, the government is introducing new measures to ensure social housing landlords prioritize safety in their properties.

The upcoming GB Focus webinar, "Managing Maintenance in Council Controlled Buildings" has been curated to aid those overseeing social housing in sidestepping issues related to dampness and mould. This webinar will assemble experts to delve into existing legislation and propose effective solutions. The investigation reveals a troubling culture within RBH where staff dismissed resident concerns, demonstrating a belief that they knew better. According to the Housing Ombudsman, employees at RBH harboured biases and made presumptions about asylum seekers and refugees, leading to inadequate and sometimes hazardous housing conditions.

Sponsored by Cornerstone, participants will have the chance to engage, share insights, and pose questions to our esteemed panel. The panel comprises James Berry, Deputy Chief Executive of the Property Care Association; Dr. Douglas Booker from National Air Quality Testing Services; Dr. Hector Altamirano, Director of the UK Centre for Moisture in Buildings; energy and sustainability consultant Peter Rickaby; and David Bly from property management consultants Cornerstone.

So, join us on the 11th of April at 10:30am as we invite you to join the dialogue and direct your queries to our panel of experts and have your input. Let’s us all educate ourselves and look to the future, get a head of the curb, and recognise a problem and stop it in its track and prioritise safety in your properties. Find solutions – Save lives.
