What: The competition will ask your students to consider a problem that will face cities in 2050, when 68% of the world’s population will live in urban areas. They will then propose a solution to that problem using their creativity, research skills and STEM knowledge, as well as teamwork and communication.
How: It’s flexible to suit you and your school. You can run the competition in lesson time, as a STEM club activity, or as part of an enrichment day – it’s up to you! Plus, completing an entry can take as little as 2.5 hours.
Why: Do your students know about the variety of STEM careers available to them? As well as developing their skills and knowledge, the competition will open students’ eyes to a range of STEM careers, so it’s also helping you embed employability and deliver your careers strategy.
Who: The competition is open to teams of up to five 11-14 year olds.
When: The deadline for entries is 5pm on Friday 24 April, 2020.
