As part of our commitment to electrify fleets, Lookers Vehicle Solutions was proud to take part in the 2023 Greenfleet EV Rally of Scotland over the summer, to showcase EV technology and the charging network in Scotland.

Lookers Vehicle Solutions business development managers Chris Murray and Nick Dunn drove a VW ID Buzz around the rally, which covered 600 miles. The purpose was to demonstrate the ease of electric vehicles and the charging network in a real world environment.

Chris said after the event:

"Even with plenty of experience with electric vehicles, we started the task of covering 600 miles in 2 days in some of the most remote and beautiful parts of the UK with apprehension. Fast forward 48 hours and we were blown away with the ease and how capabke the electric car is. The car in question was the Volkswagen ID.BUZZ. If we weren't sold on an electric vehicle before we are now! You may think electric is for the future but the future is here now"

Nick Added:

"On paper Electric vehicles make sense, but there is still hesitancy among the majority of people. The EV rally of Scotland gave us the perfect example to showcase that no matter where you are in the UK, it's possible to run an Electric vehicle and dismiss all the negative misconceptions"
