Cambridge Advanced Nationals (AAQs), our new Level 3 qualifications, are available for first teaching in 2025. Designed for students aged 16-19 years, our Level 3 Cambridge Advanced Nationals will complement existing A Level study programmes.
New mapping guides
Post-16 reform currently means current Level 3 vocational qualifications including Cambridge Technicals will be defunded. In this scenario Cambridge Advanced Nationals could replace Cambridge Technicals, but if there were to be a change to existing policies, for example, due to a change of government, this reform may be reviewed which could lead to a continuation of funding for current Level 3 qualifications.
If as a result of the current reform you choose to move from our current Level 3 Cambridge Technical qualifications to our new Cambridge Advanced Nationals qualifications we’ve created mapping guides to help you. The guides clearly show which content is the same as you are used to, and where new content has been introduced.
You can download the mapping guides for all the Cambridge Advanced Nationals in cycle 1, as well as the draft specifications and SAMs from our new hub page.
