With new legislation upon us, dealing with damp and mould within tighter timelines could, in the absence of ‘Did You Know’, simply lead to repeat issues within a shorter period of time.
Our experience continues to show itself as best-intention remediations leading to either repeat outbreaks or indeed, new problem developments.
Why?
Because we continue to hear ‘I never knew that’ when we describe our findings alongside the contributory aspects for reported problems. And, now is the time to replace blame with smarter knowledge in a recognisable format in order to get ahead of these Category 1 issues.
For example, opening windows only for a short period in the winter and not all day, can aid changing the atmosphere with drier air during this period that requires less energy to reheat than it would to maintain heat in the current warm moist atmosphere.
Plus, drying clothes indoors is a recognised everyday undertaking and is recommended using the bathroom with the door closed and either the window open or the extractor working. If an internal room is the preferred choice, no problem, just keep this door closed and a window open for the drying period to reduce the potential for moist air to circulate the dwelling as a whole.
These examples are available in a new Property Health App with a significant Did You Know listing available to all 24/7 365 days of the year and, if assistance is indeed required a selectable process is available – when you need it.
